Stafford, Alfaretta M. "Freddie", 82 of Northern Cambria, died July 30, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born October 13, 1922, in Cresson, daughter of Dewey and Eleanor (Conrad) Adams. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Alberta and Virginia, and brothers Dewey and Kenneth "Smokey", and son-in-law Don Miller. Survived by husband of 61 years, Robert; children Darlene Miller, Waynesboro; Paul and wife Joan (Zaliznock), and Terry "Zeb" and wife Marianna (Lombardo), both of Northern Cambria. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Mary McGuire, Cyril "Skillett", Alfred "Crow", and John "Charlie", all of Cresson; and brother William of Duncansville. Also sisters-in-law Mary and Therese Adams, both of Cresson. Formerly employed with Carol Ann Fashions, of Cherry Tree and Hastings. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church; Catholic Daughters of America; and Barnesboro VFW Ladies Auxilliary, where she also did catering and helped run bingo for many years. She also loved to play bingo. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where altar and rosary service will be held at 3:00 p.m. followed by vigil for the deceased. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions be made to charity of one's choice.
