Alice Baker

Baker, Alice, 90 of Laurel Crest Manor, Ebensburg, formerly of Portage, died August 12, 2003 at Laurel Crest. Born September 27, 1912, in Spangler, daughter of Edward and Mary (Broyles) Kelly. Preceded in death by parents, husband Elijah P. who died in 1989, and 8 brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children, Mary Ellen married to Stephen Wornoff of Sacramento, CA; Vallie Ross Baker married to Patty (Robertson) of Windber; Sarah Cathrine married to Richard Shandor of Cresson, and Brian of Portage. Also survived by grandchildren Bethany Turner, Jennifer Rosenbaum, and Jason Keller; and 5 great-grandchildren. Long time member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Portage. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment Citizen's Cemetery, Cherry Tree. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1011 Old Salem Road, Greensburg, PA 15601. Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Cherry Tree, in charge of arrangements.
