Anthony Bernecky

Bernecky, Anthony, 83 of Cherry Tree R.D., died August 29, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare - Mountain View, Hillsdale. Born April 20, 1919, in Emeigh, son of Simon and Martha (Krakawski) Bernecky. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Magdalene Witenski, and Mary Bernecky, and brothers Sam and Pete. Survived by wife of 61 years, former Elizabeth "Betty" Letavish, and children, Rita married to Bill Fronk, and Joan Bernecky, both of Westover, Mark married to Joan (Leslie), and Dave and friend Paulette Abramovich, both of Cherry Tree. Also survived by 5 grandchildren. Brother of Eva Bodnar of Ebensburg, Joe and Bill, both of Buffalo, John of Portage, Betty Ciezobka, and Ann Zedack, both of Northern Cambria. U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII. Retired owner of A.A.A. Capacitor in Cherry Tree. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. At Tony's request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Chapel. Committal in Holy Cross Cemetery. Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Cherry Tree, is in charge of arrangements.
