Zatorsky, Bernard B. "Beetles", 54 of Northern Cambria, died October 3, 2003 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born March 14, 1949 in Spangler, son of Bernard "Brownie" and Olga (Yuhas) Zatorsky. Preceded in death by parents; mother-in-law Mildred Shackelford; and brother-in-law Roger Yanoski. Survived by his loving family: wife of 30 years, former Nancy Shackelford; and children Jason married to Jennifer (Kiraly) of New York and Jessica, at home. Brother of Linda Yanoski, Cherry Tree; Michael (Bonnie) Zatorsky; Vicky (Doug) Mayer of Northern Cambria; and Karen (Dave) Socie of Altoona. Son-in-law of John K. Shackelford of West Virginia; and brother-in-law of Rita (Dave) Potochick of Missouri; and John (Terry) Shackelford of West Virginia. U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam war. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Retired from Barnes and Tucker Coal Company #24D mine. Officer and member of VFW Post 343, Northern Cambria; Member of UMWA Local 1269, American Legion Post #508, Rembrandt Club, Slovak Club, Emeigh Sportsman's Club, and Austin Sportsman's Club in Potter County. Bernie was an avid fisherman and hunter and wonderful husband and father. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where Vigil for the deceased will be held and Altar and Rosary Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal at North Barnesboro Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by local veterans' organizations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 135 Osborne St., Johnstown, PA 15905. A tree will be presented to the family in living memory of Mr. Zatorsky by the funeral home.
