Fitzpatrick, Bertha "Bea", 82 of St. Benedict Manor, formerly of Spangler, died May 18, 2004 at Beverly Healthcare-Haida, Hastings. Born March 12, 1922, in Cymbria, daughter of Gabor and Elizabeth (Szendrey) Yuhas. Preceded in death by parents; husband William J. "Red" in 1981; brothers Paul, Gabriel, and Joseph Yuhas; and sisters, Verna Feeley, Mary Hidi, and Olga Zatorsky; niece Patricia Stroud; nephews William Eden, Joseph Hidi, Paul Wanat, Paul Stroud, Roger Yanoski, and Bernard Zatorsky; and godson Leon Feeley. Survived by sisters Margaret Wanat of Tuckerton, NJ; and Erma Konitsky of Spangler; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Member of former Holy Cross Catholic Church of Spangler and the Hungarian Foundation of New Brunswick, NJ. Former owner and operator of The Lunch Wagon, Garwood, NJ, and Fitzpatrick's Tavern, Kenilworth, NJ. Before her stroke in 1989, she was known as a fine, sympathetic listener, who enjoyed the patrons at The Lunch Wagon and Fitzpatrick's Tavern. Bea enjoyed caring for her gardens in Old Bridge, NJ; her oak tree in Spangler, their pet dogs, and music. She loved visits from Erma Sheredy and the kids, Donna Wanat, Cindy Rematt, Cathy Taylor, Sandi Hidi, Liz Lamb, Paula Stroud, and Linda Yanosky. She especially enjoyed the care of Rose Yahnert of St. Benedict Manor. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where Rosary will be recited by the Altar and Rosary Society at 3:30 p.m.; and Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Prince of Peace Chapel. Committal in North Barnesboro Cemetery. A tree will be presented to the family in living memory of Bea from Long-Contres.
