Betty J (Wagner) Hassen

Hassen Betty, J. 85 Northern Cambria, passed away November 24, 2016 at Hillsdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born May 2, 1931 in Barnesboro, daughter of  Amos Edward and Mary (Miller) Wagner. Preceded in death by parents, loving husband Mike in 1968, brothers Eugene, Melvin, Amos, John, Dean and Ben and sisters Stella Sievers and Goldie Corio. Survived by sons Mike (Judy), Dave (Missy) and John (Nancy) all of Northern Cambria and daughter Debbie Hassen of Ebensburg. Also survived by  14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and sister Ann Thomas of Maryland. Member of St. John's United Methodist Church, and retired from G.C. Murphy Co. An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, Mom/ Gram always put everyone else's needs before hers.  She was a very loving, caring, and strong woman who always put family first. She will be missed by everyone that had the privilege to know and love her.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, the time of funeral service at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Pastor J. R. Virgin. Interment North Barnesboro Cemetery.
