Chester M. Beck

Beck, Chester M., 80 of Westover R.D., died July 3, 2002 at Westover R.D. Born February 1, 1922, in Burnside Twp., son of Alden W. and Alberta M. (Yingling) Beck. Preceded in death by parents, 1st wife Eunice (Rorabaugh), who died in 1964, and sisters Alta Mae Brandt and Regina Westover. Survived by 2nd wife, former Katherine L. Dunlap, brothers, Carl E. of Westover, William of LaJose R.D. and sisters, Ruth McCune and Gladys Mitchell, both of Clearfield, Helen Mulhollen of LaJose R.D., Elizabeth Knight of Enola, and Marjorie Hull of Mahaffey. Also survived by step-mother Violet L. Beck of Cherry Tree R.D., half-sisters Norma Davis of Cherry Tree, and Delores Pry of Cherry Tree R.D., and half-brother Alden Beck of Westover R.D, and numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Member of Calvary Evangelical Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher, lay leader, and caretaker. Formerly employed at the Westover Tannery. Retired from McCreary Tire & Rubber Co., Indiana. He was also the caretaker of East Ridge Cemetery. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Cherry Tree. Friends will also be received from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Evangelical Church, Pastor Gerald Craker. Interment East Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Calvary Evangelical Church, R.D. 2, Cherry Tree, PA 15724.
