Christopher Michael Knapik, 48 of New Florence, formerly Northern Cambria passed away Friday, July 11, 2025.
Born December 22, 1976, in Johnstown, a son of Fred Knapik and Sandra Sabella Miller. He married Jessica Hangey on December 19, 2009, in Las Vegas.
Surviving is his wife, Jessica Knapik; three children, Tyler, Taylor, and Tia Yannitelli; and granddaughter, Ivy Steele; mother and father, Sandra and John Miller; biological father, Fred Knapik and wife Debbie Knapik; grandmother, Charlotte Knapik, and siblings Bradley Knapik and wife Bethany Knapik, Justin Knapik and wife Theresa Knapik, Kristi Lasch and husband Jake Lasch.
Christopher was a 1995 graduate of Northern Cambria High School and received his associates degree in Specialized Business Audio and Visual Technology from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Owner of Streamlined Media Productions and was an Operator of the Keystone Generating Station, Shelocta, with 6 years of service. Member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Formerly employed at WJAC TV, Rizzo and Sons, Cambria Cogen, and Ebensburg Power.
Hunting, fishing, and shooting trap were among his favorite outdoor activities he enjoyed. He also enjoyed fly fishing and constructing his own flies. Chris’s passion for music and sound infused every aspect of his life, from running sound and lights for band, playing and collecting guitars, or just rocking out. He loved riding his Harley and tinkering in the garage, he was constantly working on something. Above all, Chris treasured the time spent with his loved ones—whether it was embarking on family adventures or simply enjoying the quiet moments together. Any spare moment he had, Chris could be found chatting and befriending anyone whom he met.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1201 Chestnut Ave., Northern Cambria. Committal will be held at North Barnesboro Cemetery.
