Donna M. (Brancato) Brancato-Forbes

Brancato, Donna M. Brancato Forbes, 75 of Girard, Pa (formerly of Barnesboro) died January 16, 2015 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. Born May 26, 1939 in Barnesboro, daughter of Peter and Myrtle V (Hall) Brancato Greenwood. Preceded in death by parents, stepfather, Ralph Greenwood. Survived by husband, Gary G. Forbes whom she married September 21, 2013, sister Jacquilin J. "Jackie" (William) Snow of Girard, stepbrother, James E. (Ellen) Greenwood of Pottstown, Pa. Also several nieces and nephews. As a young girl she moved to Richmond, Va. from Barnesboro, and graduated from the Thomas Jefferson High School in 1957. She then attended Business College and eventually went to work for the State of Virginia. She returned to Barnesboro in 1963, where she worked at the local library, and later was employed as the Librarian at the Cambria County Library where she worked until her retirement in 2001. She was an active member of the St. John's Methodist Church in Barnesboro where she was the church secretary, also secretary of St. Paul Presbyterian Church, and was   very active in community events and organizations in Barnesboro. She enjoyed bowling, counter cross stitch, macrame and needlework. Funeral service was held at Edder Funeral Home of Girard. Interment will be at East Ridge Cemetery, Westover, Rd. Memorials may be made to Friends of Pleasant Ridge Manor, 8300 W. Ridge Rd. Girard, Pa 16417. Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., is assisting the family with local arrangements.
