Dorothy M. Fryer

Fryer, Dorothy M., 96 of Beverly Health Care Mountain View, Hillsdale, formerly of Watkins, died February 22, 2003 at Mountain View. Born May 9, 1906, in Bakerton, daughter of Warren H. and Hattie (Sharpe) Meckley. Preceded in death by parents, husband Guy who died in 1969, children Violet Hamberger, William H., Thomas L., and Anna Mae Tibbott, brothers Coy, Arthur, Ray, and Willard, sisters Annabelle Marshall, Gwendolyn, Helen McQuown and Ruth Bennett-Sunderlin, granddaughter Susan M. Tibbott, and great-grandsons Robert and Joe Hamberger. Survived by children, Gertrude married to John Daisley of Carrolltown, Guy Jr. of Denver, PA, and Robert married to Rosalyn (Konitsky) of North Huntingdon, 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 15 gr.gr.-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and 8 step-great-grandchildren, and brother, Robert of Glen Campbell. Homemaker; member of St. Benedict Presbyterian Church and it's Women's Assoc.; member and past president of Spangler Fire Auxiliary, Cambria County Fire Ladies Auxiliary, Cambria County VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Spangler Legion auxiliary, Spangler VFW, and Spangler Senior Citizens. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, and 2:00 until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Monday at St. Benedict Presbyterian Church, Pastor Marty Cartmell. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mahaffey. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Benedict Presbyterian Church, St. Benedict, PA 15773. A tree will be presented to the family in living memory of Mrs. Fryer by Long-Contres.
