Burley, Earl E. "Cappy", 72 of Tipperary Road, Northern Cambria, died October 27, 2004 at home. Born February 3, 1932 in Barr Twp., son of Henry Earl and Mary Catherine (McAnulty) Burley. Preceded in death by parents, and brothers Leroy and Ray. Survived by wife of 43 years former Velma Mae "Sugar" Miller, and these children: Debby married to Richard Silvis of Homer City R.D.1; Master Sgt. Mary Stewart married to Eugene Stewart of Montana; Diana married to David Stasko of Fallen Timber; and Edward Jr. and wife Holly (Shultz) of Patton. Also survived by grandchildren Joshua Burley and fiancAC. Ann Doblo, Tyler Stasko, and Caleb Burley. Brother of Jane McAnulty, Ebensburg; Edith Webb, Seymoure, Tennessee; Anna Kirsch, Northern Cambria; Dorothy Richards, Aurora, OH; and Grace Golden, Sidman. U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Retired custodian from Penns Manor School District. Member of Clymer American Legion Post 222 and Clymer VFW. Cappy was an avid gardener. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Committal at St. Joseph's Cemetery, St. Benedict. Military rites will be conducted by Clymer American Legion. In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 351 Budfield St., Johnstown, PA 15904. A tree will presented to the family in living memory of Cappy by Long-Contres.
