Edith Eniz (Gillo) Wenturine

Wenturine, Edith 'Eniz", 85,  Nicktown, died September 3, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana. Born July 12, 1930 in Indiana, daughter of Fermino and Rachel (Levis) Gillo. Preceded in death by parents and husband John R. Sr. in 2002. Survived by children; Janet Wenturine of Yuma, Arizona, John Jr. and wife Tracy (Malicky) Wenturine of Nicktown, Kim and wife Anna (Yauneridge) Wenturine of Richland and Robert and wife Anna ( Valla) Venturini of Pittsburgh. Grandchildren; Anthony and Michael Desalvo , John R.III and wife Kate (Antis) Wenturine, Nicole Wenturine , Shawna Toth, Krista, Jordan, Lisa, Lara Wenturine, Ashley and Alexis Venturini, great-grandchildren; John R. Wenturine IV and Isabella and Alexandra Toth. Sister of Robert and wife Patricia Gillo of Tennessee, Raymond and wife Sally Gillo of Michigan. Eniz worked in her parents grocery store in Alverda as a young girl until she married, also bookkeeper for her husbands lumber company. She was an excellent cook famous for her homemade breads, pies and cookies. She enjoyed going out with her dear friends to shop and have lunch together, especially her best friend, Dee Kirsch, whom she spent much time with.  She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. At Eniz's request, there will be no visitation. Memorial mass will be celebrated September 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown, Father Michael Gabler O.S.B.  Committal at Wenturine Farm Private Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northern Cambria Catholic School, 3278 Blue Goose Road, Nicktown, Pa. 15762
