Florence R. McMurray

               Florence R. McMurray, 101 of Hastings passed away early Friday morning May 31, 2024, at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Johnstown.

               She was born April 22, 1923, in Hastings, a daughter to the late Henry and Florence (Strittmatter) McTigue. She married Jack C. McMurray; he preceded her in death in 2001. Also preceded in death by a brother, William McTigue and son in law, Robert Pringle. 

               Surviving are three children, Jack (Carol) McMurray of Altoona, Brian (Frances) McMurray of Hartwick, NY, and Diane Pringle of Johnstown; two grandchildren, Kristin (Chun-te) Li and Erin McMurray, a great granddaughter, Autumn Li; and cousins, Ethel Baker, and Bill Byrne.

               Florence loved reading. She was the best apple pie maker and was an all-around sweetheart.

            A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria with Rev. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB officiating. Committal will be held at St. Bernards Cemetery, Hastings.
