Frank J. Popovich

Popovich, Frank J., 86 of Northern Cambria, died June 27, 2003 at Haida Manor, Hastings. Born November 27, 1916, in Spangler, son of John and Mary (Bacha) Popovich. Preceded in death by parents, wife, former Jennie Wojno in 1997, brothers Andrew Domen, Albert, George and John Popovich; sisters Mary Ohman, Ann Lubert and Helen Bowman. Last surviving member of immediate family. Survived by daughter Theresa married to Don Bernard of Northern Cambria; grandchildren Don Bernard of Lexington Park, MD, and Diane married to Patrick McMullen of Northern Cambria; and great-grandchildren Troy and Brock McMullen. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Fr. Anthony Pollack. U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII. Former electrician for University Hospitals, in Cleveland, OH, and Miners Hospital in Spangler. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where vigil for the deceased will be held and Altar and Rosary service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by local veterans organizations.
