Genevieve T. Olear

Olear, Genevieve T., 71 of Northern Cambria, died July 7, 2003 at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital, Altoona. Born June 17, 1932, in Barnesboro, daughter of John and Catherine (Haligowski) Gerlesky. Preceded in death by parents, brothers John Klemack, and Paul Gerlesky; sisters Virginia (Klemack) Casiere, Helen Klemack, Blanche Mazella and Ann Hrubochak; infant nephews Christopher Kotrick and Michael Hrubochak; and great-niece Sabrina Wilson. Survived by husband of 49 years Paul J.; brothers, Joseph Gerlesky married to Katie (Corio) of Olanta, PA, Edward Gerlesky married to Carol (Callihan) of Parlin, NJ, Frank Gerlesky married to Syvilla (Luther) of Carrolltown, Walter Gerlesky married to Jane Massey of Frankin, NJ; and sisters, Louise married to Alex Kotrick of Northern Cambria; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of former St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, CDA Court Our Lady of Victory #722, and Secular Franciscan Order. Member of the Barnesboro Slovak Club. Life memer of the Barnesboro American Legion and VFW. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where Altar and Rosary service will be held at 3:00 p.m. followed by Secular Franciscan service and vigil for the deceased. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 811 Chestnut Avenue, Northern Cambria, PA 15714. A tree will be presented to the family in living memory of Mrs. Olear by Long-Contres.
