George A. “Farmer” Lamer, 78 of Clymer, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at AristaCare at Hillsdale Park. He was born February 22, 1941 in Watkins a son of the late Howard J. and Goldie (Hagens) Lamer. He married Dolores M. Long in May of 1975.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores; three sons, Larry (Nellie) Lindley, Brian (Esther) Lindley and Steven Lindley; a daughter, RaeJean (James) Hopkins; four grandchildren, Melissa, Adam, Aaron, Emily; a sister, Evelyn Marsh and a brother in law Nick Zahurons.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Alice Ober, Clayton Lamer, Rothard Lamer, James Lamer, Ruth Marsh, Raymond Lamer and Linda Zahurons.
George enjoyed spending time with family. He loved cats and collecting old trucks and dog statues. In his younger days he enjoyed hauling junk. He was formerly, employed at Stiffler Greenhouse.
Friends will be received Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria, where a funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert White officiating. Interment will be made at McDowell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barrett Funeral Home to help with costs.
