McConnell, Gerald I., 78 of Northern Cambria, died May 13, 2003 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. Born March 10, 1925, in Patton, son of Walter "Jim" and Helen (Watt) McConnell. Preceded in death by parents, sister Mary Seymore, and brothers Mike and Mark. Survived by wife of 51 years, Lillian (Bellavia), and daughter Emily McConnell of Northern Cambria. Brother of, Rita Lacey, Gertrude Kovach, Pat Yencho, Walter, Dwayne, Ed, and Carl, all of Patton, Ann Lee of Maryland, Kathy Labelle of Punxsutawney, and John of Loretto. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII. Member of former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Barnesboro American Legion and VFW, Loyal Order of Moose, Hastings, and Patton Slovak Club. Friends received from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.
