Helen E. Sackie

Sackie, Helen E., 79 of Northern Cambria, died April 8, 2005 at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born May 22, 1925, in Emeigh, daughter of John Sr. and Elizabeth (Spirak) Janosko. Preceded in death by parents; stepfather John Mriz; brothers John, Andrew "Jeff", Joe, and George "Yorgey", Elmer and Michael Janosko; sisters Mary and Ann Janosko; stepsister Elizabeth Patsolic; and son-in-law Walter J. Yasick. Survived by husband of 56 years, Thomas A.; daughter MarieYasick, Northern Cambria; and grandchildren Christina and Susann Yasick. Formerly employed at Farmers & Merchants Bank of Cherry Tree and Aughenbaugh Insurance Agency of Cherry Tree. Former member of Most Precious Blood Church, Emeigh, and St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Helen enjoyed cooking, sewing and taking care of her family. Her husband, daughter and granddaughters were the joys of her life. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. following by vigil for the deceased. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery.
