Henry J. Recchia

Recchia Henry J. 94, of Meadville, formerly of Spangler R.D. died November 9, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center. Born December 18, 1908 in Wishaw, son of Donato and Maria (DeArchangelo) Recchia. Preceded in death by parents, first wife former Margaret Mihalich in 1982, sisters Clara, Lucy, Ethel, Nellie, Effie, Elizabeth, Helen Katafias and Laura McDermott and brothers Joseph Rake and Army. Survived by second wife Doris (Van Camp) Eppehimer-Recchia and children: Carol and husband Robert Bender of Williamsburg, Va.; Linda and husband Christopher Snyder of Springfield, Mo., and Leanne and husband Christopher Longwill of Turtle Creek. Also step-children Blaine Eppehimer of Meadville; Wayne and wife Joan Eppehimer of Jamestown, New York; Sandra Walls of West Palm Beach, Florida and Sharyn Madison of Cortland, New York. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 gr. Grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Former owner of J and H Fuels, Allport. Avid pool player, story teller and pizelle maker. Loved gardening and woodworking. Former tap dancer in Vaudeville. Former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Spangler. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Chapel with Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery.
