VEHOVIC - Henry, 85, of Cherry Tree, died Sept. 10, 2004, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born June 20, 1919, in Heilwood, son of Karl and Mary (Wedenig) Vehovic. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Steve, Charles, Joseph and Louis Vehovic; and a sister, Mary Ratay and infant twins. Survived by loving wife of 57 years, former Penny Kline; and children, John Sr., married to former Linda Miller, of Ebensburg R.D.; Henry Jr., married to former Nancy Chernisky, of Nicktown; and Margaret Ellen, married to David Brown, of Charlotte, N.C. Also survived by these grandchildren, Lori Dobransky; Brenda Artley; Jennifer, Renee and Cara Vehovic; John Vehovic Jr.; Henry Vehovic III; Jessica, David and Michael Brown; and great-grandchildren, Kristin Dobransky, Zachary Artley, Braedon Vehovic and Lauren Nelson; and stepgrandchildren, April Nelson and Gene and Bob Sposito. Also brother, Edward Vehovic, of Alverda. U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the 101st Airborne and made several jumps in combat. Former co-owner of Valley Coal Co., Alverda. Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and Cherry Tree American Legion. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Cherry Tree, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Rev. Job Foote, OSB. Military rites will be conducted by the Cherry Tree American Legion. Committal, St. Nicholas Cemetery.
