James Eugene Crawford, Jr

Crawford James Eugene Jr. 75, of Middletown, Dauphin County, formerly of Cherry Tree, died suddenly at Harrisburg Hospital on November 23, 2002. Born July 5, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio son of James Eugene and Irma Mary (Shankle) Crawford. Preceded in death by parents and grandparents Frank and Gail Riethmiller. Survived by wife of 40 years former Constance Cannon, children Bernice and husband David Styer of New Castle, Delaware, and Kathryn and husband Sid Kohr of Chambersburg. Also five grandchildren and brother George W. and wife Charmaine Crawford of Yardley. WWII Veteran of Army Air Corp., and also served in the U.S. Navy. Retired from the IRS after 19 years. Former member of Cherry Tree American Legion. Member of Retired Officers Association and Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana. Friends received from Noon until time of Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church, Westover RD, with Rev. John Dallape. Interment East Ridge Cemetery. Family encourages individuals to plant trees or shrubs as memorials in Jim's honor. Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc. Cherry Tree is in charge of arrangements.
