James C. Weakland Sr., 84 of Burnside passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 2, 1940, in Hastings, a son to the late Bernard and Lucille (Nagle) Weakland. He married Elsie M. Arnold on June 26, 1980.
Surviving is his wife, Elsie; four children, Walter (Tangie) Weakland, Joseph Weakland, Candie (Troy) Solley, James Weakland, Jr.; five grandchildren, Tiffany Weakland (Cody Craft), Paige Weakland, Travis Solley, Troy Solley, Jr. (Rose), Angel Solley (Nate); five great grandchildren, Braxston, Dawson, Everleigh, Izabella, Oliviah; a sister, Rochelle Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, great granddaughter, Trinity Craft; siblings, Edward Weakland, Bernard Weakland, Mary Ellen Westover, and Marie Allen.
James enjoyed woodworking and fishing, especially fishing for catfish.
Friends will be received Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from noon until the 1:00 p.m. service at East Ridge Harmony Global Methodist Church, 1713 Ridge Rd., Westover, Pa 16692, where Pastor Barby Trent officiating. Interment East Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements by Barrett Funeral Home, Northern Cambria.
