Janis M. McMullen, 90, of Greensburg, formerly of Northern Cambria, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2023.
She was born February 20, 1933, in Burnside Twp., daughter of Cloyde and Vada (Johnston) Roland. Janis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Dr. Ronald P. McMullen.
A 1954 graduate of Miners Hospital School of Nursing, Janis retired after 40 years of compassionate service in the operating room at Miners Hospital, Spangler, PA. She held fond memories and the highest regard for her colleagues, many of whom remained her friends for years.
A devoted and loving mother, Janis is survived by four children, Pamela Beckner (Bob), Lisa Gjebre (Dr. Keith), Jeff McMullen and Andrea McMullen (Frank Frontino); six grandchildren, Erica Weaver (Philip), Travis Finlan (Carmen), Benjamin Gjebre (Jamie), Devon Gjebre, Colin Bell (Samantha) and Conner Bell; a great grandchild, Laina; a brother, Dr. R. Jay Roland (Ellen); and many more loving brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Matthew Dvorchak for his care and support of the McMullen family.
A celebration of life honoring both Janis and Ronald will be held on Thursday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Jeremiah G. Lange, O.S.B., Ph.D. officiating at Barrett Funeral Home in Northern Cambria, PA.
In memory of Janis, donations may be made to Veterans Memorial Ambulance Service (202 Juniper St) or Hope Fire Company (1023 Philadelphia Ave) of Northern Cambria, 15714.
Interment made at East Ridge Cemetery.
