Baker, John P., 82 of Brookville, formerly of Barnesboro, died August 3, 2005, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville. Born May 2, 1923, in Emeigh, son of Elijah P. and Sarah C. (Fleming) Baker. Preceded in death by parents, wife Dorothy Ann (Taylor) in 1983, brothers Ord, Cloyd, Dallas, and William Baker; and sisters Vera Evans and Louise Driver. Survived by children Larry married to Barbara (Monborne), Cherry Tree; Rev. J. Ray married to Judith (Monborne), Brookville; and Judith Ann married to Louis Monborne, Northern Cambria. Also 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Vernie Stuchell, Greenwich; and Ruth Ford, Homeland, CA. U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Former owner of Elijah P. Baker and Sons Lumber Co., Cherry Tree; and former owner of Diamond J Truck Stop, Brookville. Former member of Northern Cambria School Board. At John's request there is no visitation and a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment East Ridge Cemetery.
