John L. O'Brien

O'Brien, John L., 75 of Commodore, died September 7, 2003, at home. Born December 31, 1927, son of Jacob and Elizabeth (James) O'Brien. Preceded in death by parents, brother James R. and infant brother Patrick D., and grandson Joseph J. M. "Joey" O'Brien. Survived by wife former Carolyn Wojtowicz, and these children: Patrick and wife Nellie (Labastida) of Seattle, WA; Cynthia married to Timothy Crossland; and Jonathan, all of Commodore; Joseph and fiance Awanda Sims; and Lisa married to Joseph Parfitt, all of Clymer; and Jodie and fiance Larry Manges of Punxsutawney. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Brother of Bill, Reynoldsville; Morgan, Arizona; Jake, Pittsburgh; Mary Sendek, Nanty Glo; Emma Whiteford, Johnstown; Nancy Ropchock, Akron, OH; and George. U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Formerly employed with S & S Tire, Akron, OH. Member of Clymer Moose and American Legion. There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at the McDowell Cemetery Chapel, Clymer R.D. Military rites will be conducted by Clymer American Legion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family, in care of Lisa Parfitt, 61 Herriman St., Commodore, PA 15729.
