John A. Pnakovich

Pnakovich, John A., 79 of Northern Cambria, died May 4, 2004 at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born March 22, 1925, in Barnesboro, son of Andrew and Anna (Merise) Pnakovich. Preceded in death by parents, and infant sister Anna. Survived by wife of 48 years former Ann Tretinik, and sisters, Mary Babiak of Northern Cambria, and Julianna Abate of Willowick, OH. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Formerly employed at Grillo Brothers Pontiac and Buick for 25 years. Retired custodian from former Laurel Bank of Barnesboro. Member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. Member of Barnesboro VFW Post #343. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where Panachida service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Thursday and also at 9:15 a.m. Friday, followed by Funeral of Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Fr. Oliver Hebert, T.O.R. Committal at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by local Veterans organizations. A tree will presented to the family in living memory of Mr. Pnakovich.
