John Richard Rainey

               John Richard Rainey, 81 of Cherry Tree passed away, Thursday, December 16, 2021, at IRMC.

               He was born July 4, 1940, to the late Merle and Guila (Pierce) Rainey. He married Barbara Zarnesky and they shared 52 years of marriage together.

               Surviving is his wife, Barbara; six children, Michelle (Wes) Mauk, Johnny (Angie) Rainey, Bobby (Kim) Rainey, Shawna Rainey, Billy (Mary) Rainey and Jimmy Rainey; six grandchildren, Karly, Wesley, Jr., Jackie, Brianna, Hunter and Zoey; two great grandchildren, Rusty and Tobias; two sisters, Shirley Jones and Dorothy Warfield; and five brothers, Harry, Bill, Paul, Melvin, and Ronnie Rainey.

               He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sadie Jones.

               John was a U.S. Airforce veteran. He enjoyed working on cars, horses and tinkering with lawnmowers.

               Friends will be received Monday, December 20, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria, where a funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at East Ridge Cemetery.
