John Sweeney

   John Russell Sweeney, 48 of Marsteller formerly of Maine passed away, Tuesday evening, February 27, 2024, at Conemaugh Miners Medical Center. 

   He was born July 16,1975, in Lynn, Massachusetts, a son to William and Marie (Smith) Sweeney. 

   Surviving are his parents; a sister, Rachael Dore and husband Dan of Maine; a brother, Jason Sweeney and wife Andrea; fiancée, Carrie Figueroa of Marsteller; two stepdaughters, Rita Trunzo and husband Thomas and Makayla Mahoney and husband Cody; two stepsons, Matthew Glover and wife Katie Baker and Shane Saucier; a grandson, Astro Glover; his dog, Klaus; nephews, James, Wade (Sonia), and Kevin (Christy) Dore; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many close friends that were like family. 

   John loved being outdoors, hiking, and fishing. He enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset at the beach with his fiancée. He will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
