Donatelli, Joseph J., 93 of Bakerton, died May 2, 2003 at home. Born July 7, 1909 in Frugality, son of Antonio and Vincenzina (DeSantis) Donatelli. Preceded in death by parents, son Joseph D., brothers Aldo Bonfili, Guido "Jimmy", Augie and Hugo Donatelli. Survived by loving wife of 69 years Betty Louise (Hileman) children Bernie, married to Pat (Castellani) Chicago, Ill., Yvonne, married to Jim Keenan, Kentucky, and Wayne, Bakerton. Brother of Mary Bertolino, Northern Cambria, Bernetta Tirabassi and Steve Bonfili both of St. Petersburg, Fla. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Donatelli was a retired Coal Miner for Sterling, and Barnes and Tucker Coal Companies with over 48 years of service. Member of UMWA Local 1269 Bakerton. He was a long time UMWA Mine Committeeman at both Companies. He devoted his retirement years to refining his hunting and fishing skills, and his zeal for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, but his real passion was for his family and his garden. Member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 80 years until its closing when he joined St. Benedict Parish in Carrolltown. Friends received from 3:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday at Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc, Northern Cambria where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Rev. Vincent Zidek, OSB. Interment East Ridge Cemetery. A tree will be presented to the family in living memory of Mr. Donatelli by Long-Contres.
