Kenneth R. Anderson

Anderson, Kenneth R. 92 Northern Cambria, died July 27, 2016  at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born April 23, 1924 in Cherry Tree, son of Marshall G. and Anna May (Blankenbaker) Anderson.  Preceded in death by parents and brothers Leonard and Clifford Anderson. Survived by wife, former Helen Gisler,  with whom he just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 26, son Kenneth and wife Frances (Wagner) of Northern Cambria and daughter Diane and husband  Frank"Dube" Corio of Cherry Tree, grandchildren, Kelly (William) Nusom and Stacey (Dean) Creighton;  Kandi (Jeff) McCabe,  and Samantha (Chris) Hickok. Also great-grandchildren, Jennah and Linzi Nusom, Carley Creighton, Isabella and Chloe McCabe and  Colin Hickok. Also servived by several  nieces and nephews.  U.S. Army  Veteran of WWII. Ken was retired from Barnes & Tucker Coal Company #24 Mine. He was a member of  Cherry Tree Braggers Club and Chetremon Golf Club and Barnesboro American Legion . He loved to play cards and golfed up to 3 years ago. Friends will be received  from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Darlene Wiewiora. Interment North Barnesboro Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by local veterans organizations.
