Margaret (Carothers) Barrett

Margaret “Peggy” (Carothers) Barrett, 83 Emeigh, Pa. passed away on November 14, 2021 peacefully at home.  Margaret was born February 27, 1938 in Johnstown, a daughter to the late Howard and Margaret (Forgacs) Carothers. 

Survived by children Sherri Barrett, Lori Spotts Barrett (Bill), Debbie Long Barrett (Clarence), Carl Barrett (Barb);12 Grandchildren;16 Great Grandchildren; siblings Howard Carothers, Robert Carothers, John Carothers, Mary Duranko, Judy Romando, Susan Zajdel, Rose Robertson, and Lynne Koontz.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Barrett; sons Johnny Lee and David Barrett; two siblings Raymond Carothers and Patricia Carothers (Zenino) and her parents.

Margaret loved bingo, cooking, baking, and enjoyed her many friends and family members. She was known for making her famous “homemade pizza!”  Margaret shared a special birthday with her youngest sibling Lynne and they would celebrate it together every year.  Many thanks to Penn Hospice for taking such good care of her during her illness. No viewing or visitation at the request of Margaret. Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria is serving the family.
