Martha (Shepherd) McKee

McKee, Martha Shepherd 87, of Cherry Tree, went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2015 at Golden Living Center-Haida, Hastings. Born  November 9, 1927 in Cherry Tree, to the late John and Rilla  (Mitchell) Shepherd. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Kenneth in 2009 and son, Ricky Lynn, brother, Walter and sisters, Alma Fischbach and Margaret Shaffer. Survived by sons, Donald (Beverly)  and Kenneth (Nancy)  both of Nicktown, Randy (Kathryn) of Hastings, daughter, Nancy McKee of Blairsville. Also 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Martha was a member of Zion Evangelical Church, Cherry Tree. She worked in the Hastings Dress Factory. She was a loving mother and devoted to her five children. Martha was the last surviving  member of her immediate family. She loved cooking for her family and camping and was an avid genealogist.  Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday  at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Cherry Tree, with Ron Westover  officiating . Interment East Ridge Cemetery. .
