GAUL- Mary, 93, Northern Cambria, formerly of Indiana, died November 27th, 2023, at Graystone Manor at Bellemeade, Altoona, PA. Born September 11th, 1930, daughter of Frank Sgro and Antonia (Spadaro) Sgro. She was preceded in death by husband, William Gaul, parents, and siblings, Frances Sgro, Catherine Senita, Dominica Limburg, and Peter Sgro. She is survived by sister, Beatrice McMullen; step-daughter, Elaine Pierce (William); grandchildren, Michael Pierce (Jill) and Sharon Hauser (James); great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary retired from Indiana University of Pennsylvania after 30 years. She was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, Indiana and also attended Prince of Peace, Northern Cambria. She enjoyed spending time with her family. A special thank you to the staff of 360 Hospice and Graystone Manor at Bellemeade.
Family and friends will be received from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria, preceding the funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Church, Northern Cambria. Committal, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Northern Cambria. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cemetery Fund, Prince of Peace Parish, 811 Chestnut Avenue, Northern Cambria, PA 15714.
