Mary Jane Hicks

HICKS - Mary Jane, 88, Northern Cambria, died Feb. 11, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare-Haida, Hastings. Born March 22, 1916, in Barnesboro, daughter of Alexander Sr. and Jane (Birchall) Hicks. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Alexander Jr. and John C. Sr.; and sister, Thelma Lowmaster. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Retired secretary from Barnes and Tucker Coal Co. Mary Jane's wish was to have no viewing or memorial service. Those who wish to remember her are invited to come to regular church service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at SS. Thomas and Luke Episcopal Church, 507 Fifth Ave., Patton. Interment, North Barnesboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to SS. Thomas and Luke Episcopal Church. Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, is in charge of arrangements.
