Max U Guthrie

Guthrie, Max U., 96 Curwensville formerly of Mahaffey and Marsteller, passed away June 14, 2017 at home. Born September 29, 1920 in LaJose, son of Laurence Udele and Vanessa ( Lewis) Guthrie. Preceded in death by parents, son Gary, sister’s Margaret George, Bonnie Trosi and Loretta Fake, Leta Flaherty and brother Sam and girlfriend, Rose Ball. Survived by daughter, Darlene Keith (Husband Faye), Ohio step-children, Randy and Ricky Thompson and Rodney (Tina) Ball all of Mahaffey. Twelve grandchildren and Thirteen great-grandchildren and sister Bertha Stewart of Arkansas. Max was a former truck driver and former owner of Circle M Bar, Marsteller. A member of Glen Campbell American Legion and Mahaffey VFW. Max also was a former ASA Softball Umpire for 38 years and an avid bowler. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria. Interment LaJose Cemetery.
