Michele M. Weakland, 72 of Northern Cambria passed away, Wednesday evening, June 1, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
She was born February 15, 1950, in Spangler, the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Sedlock) Rutka. She was preceded in death by her husband James Kenneth “Tex” Weakland, a niece and godchild, Stephannie Rutka, a brother, Leonard “Gene” Rutka, Jr. and a special friend Ken “Doc” Miller.
Surviving a sister, Denise (Jeff) Monroe; a brother, Jerry (Shirl) Rutka; and a niece, Ashleigh Rutka.
Michele was a sales associate at Rite Aid for 20 years. She loved to sing in the church choir and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was known for being a kind person and having such a positive attitude towards everything.
Family and close friends may be received from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria. A funeral mass will held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Prince of Peace Chapel, with Father Mark Groeger officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
