Janosko, Mike G., 83 of Northern Cambria, died November 14, 2002 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. Born November 16, 1918, in Emeigh, son of John Sr. and Elizabeth (Spirak) Janosko. Preceded in death by parents, step-father John Mriz, brothers John, Andrew "Jeff", Joe, and George "Yorgey", a sister Ann, and step-sister Elizabeth Patsolic. Survived by wife of 50 years, former Pauline Fetsko, and children, Elizabeth Ann married to Edwin Smith of Charleston, S.C., and Loretta married to Rick Innocenti of Brush Valley. Also survived by grandchildren Erin, Evan, and Emmett Smith, and Joseph and Audrey Innocenti.; brother Elmer of Greenbelt, MD and sister Helen Sackie of Northern Cambria. U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he served as Staff Sergeant. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He was one of the first from Emeigh to be called to service. Former member of Most Precious Blood Church, Emeigh, and St. John the Baptist R.C. Church. Present member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Member of Barnesboro American Legion and VFW. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Military rites will be conducted by local Veterans organizations. Committal in St. John the Baptist R.C. Cemetery. A tree will be presented to the family in living memory of Mr. Janosko by Long-Contres Funeral Home.
