Mildred M. Haines

Haines, Mildred M., 89 of St. Benedict Manor, formerly of Barnesboro, died July 3, 2002 at the Manor. Born September 15, 1912, in St. Boniface, daughter of Terrence and Sarah (Lynn) McDermott. Preceded in death by parents, husband Thomas, who died in 1998, son James, and brothers and sisters Agnes Bartley, Joseph McDermott, Kathleen Drake, Pauline Sharbaugh and Patrick Lynn. Survived by son Richard T. married to former Cecelia Gillen of Altoona. Also survived by grandchildren Georgine Ray, Deborah, James and Thomas Haines, all of Scottsdale, AZ, and sister Gertrude Amedeo of Apollo. 1929 graduate of Hastings Elder H.S. 1932 graduate of Miners Hospital School of Nursing as RN. Former member of St. Edward's Altar & Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America, Court #722. Member of Cambria Nurses Assn. Retired as private duty nurse at Miners Hospital in Spangler. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where vigil for the deceased will be held, with C D of A service at 2:45 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Chapel. Committal in St. Boniface Cemetery.
