Boyce, Murray Lynn, 81 of Ridge Road, Westover, died peacefully December 27, 2003 at the family farm where he resided all his life. Born March 6, 1922, in Burnside Twp., son of Murray Lynn and Senath (Fishel) Boyce. Preceded in death by parents, a half-sister and a half-brother. Survived by wife of 57 years, former Helen Kollar; and these children: Mark Lee and wife Margaret, Indian Lake; Sara married to William Kupchella, Huntingdon; Fred and wife Judith, DuBois; and Mary Clare married to Jerry Pawluk, Smyrna, Deleware. Also survived by grandchildren Mary Lynn Kupchella, Weehawken, NJ; Adam Boyce Kupchella, Pittsburgh; Shannon Ann, Alison Lynn, Morgan Lee, and Sarah Maire Boyce, all of DuBois; and Alexander Jules Pawluk, Smyrna, Deleware. Also half-sister Ruby Brothers, Westover R.D. 1940 Graduate of Cherry Tree High School. U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the 125 1st Engineering Combat Battalion. Life time owner and operator of East Ridge Mining Co. Member of East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church; Harmony Grange # 1201; Cherry Tree American Legion Post 521; and Chetremon Golf Club. Served several years on Harmony School Board. On May 10, 1989, Lynn and wife Helen were recognized as a Century Farm Family, designated for continuous family farm ownership since its acquisition in 1839. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Cherry Tree and from 9:30 until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m.Tuesday at East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church, Pastor John Dallape. Interment East Ridge Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by Cherry Tree American Legion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church, c/o Rev. John Dallape, P.O. Box 187, Westover, PA 16692.
