Neil I. McDonnell

MCDONNELL, Neil I. 85 of Cherry Tree, died July 2, 2004 at Miners Medical Center. Born November 9, 1918 in Brownstown, son of Harry William and Ida (Trout) McDonnell. Preceded in death by parents, brother Dale McDonald and sister Jean Lowmaster and granddaughter Maleah Lashinsky. Survived by wife of 52 years former Rose Jean (Niel) and children Priscilla Barrett of Voorhees, New Jersey, Dee married to Linda (Long) Gardner of Pine Flats, Gordon and wife Judy (Leamer) of Cherry Tree, Janine and husband Marvin McCoy of Uniontown and Brenda and husband William Clement of Punxsutawney. Also 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Brother of Ronalda Swan and Betty Hubele both of Akron, Ohio, and Althea Rice of Masury, Ohio. U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Retired coal miner from Florence Mining Co., Armagh. Member of North End Assembly of God Church and UMWA. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria where funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Rev.s Charles Guerin and Jon Dillinger.
