Paul J. Olear

Olear, Paul J., 77 of Northern Cambria, died August 4, 2004 at Altoona Hospital. Born July 24, 1927, in Barnesboro, son of Paul and Julia (Majoros) Olare. Preceded in death by parents, and wife former Genevieve T. Gerlesky in 2003. Survived by these brothers-in-law: Joseph, Edward, Frank, and Walter Gerlesky; and sister-in-law Louise Kotrick; and cousins Ron Olear of Northern Cambria, and Dennis Mihalik of Finksburg, MD; and several other cousins, nieces and nephews. Army Veteran of WWII. Retired from Rowe International, Newark, NJ. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Member of Northern Cambria Knights of Columbus, Slovak Club, American Legion, VFW, and Polish Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where Altar and Rosary Society will recite rosary at 3:00 p.m. and vigil for the deceased will be held that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal at St. John the Baptist R.C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made, in wife Genevieve's memory, to the American Cancer Society by calling 1-800-227-2345.
