Raymond "Mike" Rhue, Jr

Rhue, Raymond Jr. "Mike", 57 of Cherry Tree, died October 23, 2002 at his home. Born May 2, 1945, in Westover, son of Raymond and Margaret (Stumpf) Rhue. Preceded in death by parents, half-brother and half-sister Johnny and Minnie Smail. Survived by former wife Crissie Rhue of Alverda, father-in-law Elzie Woodside, Sr. of Cherry Tree and these brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wanda married to Gerald Gibbons of Alverda, Mary married to James Wilson, Karen married to Joe Keith, and Elzie Woodside, Jr. married to Renee (Pastirko), all of Cherry Tree, and Judy Roland of Virginia. Also survived by several nieces & nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and uncle Don Wolfe & family of Westover. Formerly employed with Barnes & Tucker Coal Co. #24D in Nicktown. Member of Spangler United Methodist Church, and Chapter 16 Tri County Bluegrass Music Assoc. Former member of Cherry Tree Volunteer Fire Co. Mike was very much loved by his neighbors and was very helpful to them and the Stifflertown community. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Cherry Tree where funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Peter Foley.
