Richard “Mike” Celenza, 91 of Northern Cambria passed away, Sunday August 28, 2022, at home.
He was born October 22, 1930, in Mentcle, a son to the late Patsy and Elizabeth (Saiani) Celenza. He married Anita Riva on July 25, 1952. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2006. Also preceding a daughter Maria Celenza and a sister, Eleanora Grumbling.
Surviving is a daughter, Michele Celenza of Northern Cambria.
Mike graduated from Pine Township in Heilwood. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a car salesman for fifty years having worked at Grillo Brothers, Lodico Motors, Beech Ford, and Switzler Buick.
He was a member of the Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mike enjoyed going to morning mass then breakfast with his buddies. He loved playing golf, tinkering with cars, going on vacations to Florida and South Carolina, and visiting with relatives.
Friends will be received Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Prince of Peace Church, 811 Chestnut Ave., Northern Cambria with Rev. Mark Groeger officiating. Committal will be Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery.
