Ronald McMullen Obituary

          Ronald P. McMullen, Ph.D., 88, of Northern Cambria died peacefully at home Saturday, October 24, 2020. He was born February 21, 1932, in Spangler, son of the late William and Agnes (McTigue) McMullen, Sr.
          Dr. McMullen graduated in 1950 from Barnesboro High School. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force. He received his B.A. Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Master’s Degree at Duquesne University, and Ph.D. from Columbia Pacific University, CA. He was a member of the faculty at Harmony Area School District where he served as a teacher and guidance counselor for 40 years. He prided himself of helping guide students in their chosen careers. He enjoyed hunting, building projects around his home, and traveling with his family. He was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 508, Pennsylvania Teachers Association, and Community Action for Youth.
          He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Janis (Roland) McMullen; four children, Pamela Finlan (fiancé Robert Beckner), Lisa Gjebre (Dr. Keith), Jeff McMullen and Andrea McMullen (Frank Frontino); he is also survived by six grandchildren whom he adored, Erica Weaver (Phillip), Travis Finlan (Carmen), Benjamin Gjebre (Jamie), Devon Gjebre, Colin Bell and Conner Bell; and seven siblings, Paul McMullen, Robert McMullen (Naomi), Mary Ellen Lowe (Dr. Thomas), James McMullen (Patty), Charles McMullen (Janet), Shirel Lefko (Paul), and Patrick McMullen (Diane); a brother-in-law Dr. Ronald Roland (Ellen); and numerous nieces and nephews.                                                                
         Ronald was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lantzy, a brother, William McMullen, Jr., brother in-law, Patrick Lantzy and a sister in-law, Nancy McMullen. 
         In memory of Ronald, prayers may be offered to St. Jude, his favorite patron. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are
made by Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Avenue, Northern Cambria.
