Ruth A. Stein

Stein, Ruth A., 86 of Cherry Tree, passed away July 7, 2005 at Altoona Regional Health System. Born April 29, 1919 in Cherry Tree, daughter of Robert and Mary Elizabeth (Dukes) Davis. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 59 years Walter C. in 1995; brothers Robert, John, and Arthur; and sisters Mary Elizabeth, Sarah, and Eleanor; grandchildren Gregory Meray and Sabrina (Hrubochak) Wilson; great-granddaughters Dana and Paula Meray; and great-grandson Jeremy Shaffer. Survived by children Ruth E. wife of Robert Meray; Kathryn wife of Michael Hrubochak; Lillian wife of Robert Vrana, all of Northern Cambria; Anna wife of John T. Sickon, Spring Church; Dorothy wife of Robert C. Boring; Phyllis wife of Kenneth D. Baker; Charles R. and wife Peg (Krug); Janice wife of George Olbert; and Laurie wife of Robert Cessna, all of Cherry Tree; and Janet Ashurst, Altoona. Also survived by 33 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Sister of Edna Duffy, Kathleen Bailey, Ellsworth, William, Kenneth, and Thomas Davis. Retired from Ebensburg State School. Loved her family and enjoyed going shopping. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Cherry Tree and from 12:00 until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, at Kinport Assembly of God Church, Rev.
