Shirley S. (Sherwin) Frycklund

Shirley S. Frycklund, 84 of Northern Cambria passed away Saturday February 9, 2019 at Homewood at Martinsburg.

She was born June 24, 1934, in Barnesboro, a daughter of the late George and Ethel (McClelland) Sherwin. She married Harry Frycklund on February 19, 1955 in Barnesboro. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2012.

Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Bergman and husband Marvin of Altoona; a grandson, Geoffrey Bergman and wife Courtney of Seminole, FL; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Shirley was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Barnesboro High School and was a telephone operator and homemaker.

She loved music, knitting, traveling on cruises and was active in her church choir.

Shirley was a member of Bridge Club and Auxiliary Gideons International.

Friends will be received Tuesday February 12, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday February 13, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave, Northern Cambria, where a funeral service will take place Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Darlene Wiewiora officiating. Internment will be made at North Barnesboro Cemetery.
