Thadeus Pawlikowski Obituary

Pawlikowski - Thadeus M., 87, of Northern Cambria, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, February 4, 2023. Born May 21, 1935, in the West Branch of Barnesboro, a son of the late John and Hedwig (Kolasa) Pawlikowski.

He married Mary Arlene Davis on June 22, 1957.

Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Arlene, a son David, and an infant son. Brothers John, Stanley (Stan), Blair (Buck), Eugene (Gene), sisters Adaline (Ad), Theresa (Tic), and Dorothy (Mickey).

Survived by son, Dennis (Michele) of Northern Cambria; daughter Janet McMurrer (Bob) of DuBois; son James (Ann) of Aspinwall; son Gregory (Christine) of Windsor; 17 grandchildren; David (Erica), Sarah Gray (Todd), Julie (Brian), Zachary (Amber), Xavier, Maximilian, Thadeus, Alexander (Kathleen), Nicholas, Samuel, Rachel McMurrer, and Michael McMurrer; five great grandchildren; Louis, Benjamin, Sloane, Zeno James, and Rhys; his brother Joseph (Joann) and many nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a former member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.

Ted was a graduate of Barnesboro High School Class of 1953. He was a Marine Corps Sergeant during the Korean War and through the GI Bill, was able to go to college from 1956 to 1960.

He taught high school for four years in Jersey Shore, PA, and for 25 years at Northern Cambria until retirement in 1989.

Ted lived life to the fullest and cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife Arlene. Together, they covered all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii.

He was a high school standout in football and baseball, later coaching Varsity football and was the Head baseball coach for five years.

Ted was a Northern Cambria School Board member for 17 years, a member of the Northern Cambria Civil Defense, and a lifelong beneficiary member of the Polish Legion.

He enjoyed college football, watching Penn State on TV and traveling to Pittsburgh to watch numerous Pitt games on both the sidelines and in the press box.

Ted is sadly missed by his caregiver and special friend Janine Gallaher.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Barrett Funeral Home, at 822 Philadelphia Ave, Northern Cambria.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 811 Chestnut Avenue, Northern Cambria.
