Vernon Lawrence “Bud” Hoover, 72 of Lucernemines, formerly of Northern Cambria, passed away Saturday evening October 26, 2019 at Alleghany General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born November 18, 1946 in Brady Township a son of the late Anna Bell (Gearhart) and Pearl Leroy Hoover. He married Terri Lynn Hill whom preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, John V. Hoover and Clint L. Hoover; a step son, Charles R. Hill; three grandchildren, Xander, Kia and Talon; a brother, Gary Hoover; four sisters, Maxine Penman, Rita Thompson, Julie Silvis and Bernice Caldwell; and a half-sister, Patty Meckley.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene L. Hoover; three sisters, Barbara Pearce, Yvonne Wright, Kay Shields and an infant brother.
He was a USMC Veteran. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, working on cars, and gardening. He loved picnics and hanging out with family.
A memorial service will be held on November 9, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Avenue, Northern Cambria, PA 15714.
