Violet L. Beck

Beck Violet L. 90, of Sylvis Road, Cherry Tree RD#2, died October 11, 2002 at Indiana Hospital. Born January 19, 1912 in Listie, Pa., daughter of George and Louisa Jane (Nicholson) Lape. Preceded in death by parents, Foster parents Rev. N.A. and Twila Pearce, husband Alden Sr. in 1979, children Regina Westover, Alta Mae Brandt and Chester Beck, brother Leonard Lape and Foster brothers Alva , Norman and Edwin Pearce, and sons-in-law Paul McCune and Charles "Bud" Mulhollen. Survived by children: Norma (Larry Sr.) Davis of Cherry Tree, Dolores ( Samuel Sr.) Pry of Cherry Tree R.D. 2, Alden W. Jr. (Berdena Hamilton) of Westover R.D., Carl E. Sr. (Gladys Westover) of Westover, Ruth McCune and Gladys (Joseph) Mitchell both of Clearfield, Helen Mulhollen and J. William "Bill" (Martha Jones) both of La Jose, Elizabeth (Norman) Knight of Enola and Marjorie (Bill) Hull of Mahaffey. Also survived by 37 grandchildren, 55 gr. grandchildren and 17 Gr. gr. grandchildren, Foster brothers and sisters Wilda White of Juneau, Carlton Pearce of Indiana and Gerald Pearce of Lecanto, Florida, and sons-in-law Richard Westover of Indiana and Joseph Brandt of Brooke Park, Ohio and daughter- in-law Katherine Beck of Westover R.D. Oldest living member of the Calvary Evangelical Church and member of the Calvary Ladies Missionary Society. Also lifetime member of the Harmony Grange. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc. Cherry Tree. Friends also received from 10 until time of funeral service at 11:00a.m. Tuesday at the Calvary Evangelical Church with Pastor Gerald Craker officiating. Interment at East Ridge Cemetery. Family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Calvary Evangelical Church Building Fund, RD2, Cherry Tree, Pa. 15724 in lieu of flowers.
