Wesley J. Whited

Whited, Wesley J., 85 of Northern Cambria, died October 16, 2002 at Miners Hospital, Hastings. Born April 9, 1917, in Barnesboro, son of Joseph and Leona (Yarnell) Whited. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Clair & Howard, and sisters Sadie Visnich & Mae Jernigan. Survived by wife of 64 years, former Margaret H. Stock, and children, James W. married to Barbara A. (Jacobs), and Gerald "Jerry" married to Janet (Young), both of Northern Cambria, and L. Phyllis Stahl of Apollo. Also survived by grandchildren Scott Whited & Kelli Buterbaugh; Brent Jared Stahl; Janielle & Jeremy Whited; and great-grandchildren Braden & Taylor Whited; Rebecca & W. Eric Stahl; and Morgan Buterbaugh. Brother of Gladys Farrell of Hatfield and Gilbert "Bud" of Northern Cambria, and several nieces & nephews. Retired mechanic for Barnes & Tucker Coal Co. #15 mine. Member of Garmantown Church of God where he was Sunday School Superintendant and Deacon. Former Susquehanna Twp. Supervisor for 8 years; former member of Harmony Grange; longtime caretaker at North Barnesboro Cemetery. Did grave excavation at East Ridge, Uniontown, North Barnesboro, Harmony, and Grass Hill Cemeteries. Also loved to farm. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Friends will also be received from 10 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Garmantown Church of God, Pastor Russell Havener. Interment East Ridge Cemetery.
